Microsoft 365 Pricing to Increase March 2022

Microsoft has announced it will increase prices starting March 1, 2022  for the first time since 2011 when they first launched MS 365. They are not the only ones in the IT industry that have increased their prices: Costs have gone up throughout due to hardware shortages and efforts to increase data security.

As a managed service provider, Aeko purchases software  licenses like Microsoft for businesses and combines them into a monthly fixed fee so businesses have predictable and dependable costs. Because of the Microsoft 365 pricing increase, your monthly Aeko invoice will increase but not due to the cost of your Aeko support services.

The price increase is set to only affect commercial licenses, not educational or consumer licenses.

New Microsoft 365 Pricing starting March 2022

  • Microsoft 365 Business Basic will be $6 per user (was $5).
  • Microsoft 365 Business Premium will be $22 per user (was $20).
  • Office 365 E1 will be $10 per user (was $8).
  • Office 365 E3 will be $23 per user (was $20).
  • Office 365 E5 will be $38 per user (was $35).
  • Microsoft 365 E3 will be $36 per user (was $32).

Unlimited Dial-In Conferencing

Microsoft will be offering unlimited dial-in conferencing capabilities for Microsoft Teams users for the next few months for business, enterprise, government and frontline suites. This additional feature will strengthen the foundation of Microsoft’s communication and collaboration tools as they can be accessed on the go without internet connection.

Why Is Microsoft 365 Pricing Increasing?

Per their announcement, Microsoft noted 365 already has significantly more features than when it was first launched a decade ago. They also stated that there are more features to come.

Microsoft has announced they will charge a 20 percent premium on 365 products if the customer chooses to pay monthly instead of annually. However, clients who purchase through a managed service provider, such as  Aeko, will not have the 20 percent penalty for going month to month.  Prices of individual Microsoft products are also set to increase by up to 15 percent.
